#52 Habis Manis Sepah Dibuang

Inget nggak foto yang ini? Gw tau kalo tanaman2 di taman gitu bakal diganti begitu bunga2nya layu, tapi dulu suka penasaran gitu… bakal diapain tanaman2 itu: disimpan buat ditanam lagi atau dibuang?

Nah, akhirnya gw tau. Ternyata tanaman2 itu dicabut gitu aja truz dibuang. Sedih nggak sih liatnya?
Ini gw pas kebetulan lewat, nggak bawa kamera. Jadinya foto pake hp dah, makanya foto2nya nggak jelas gini. Kalo gw lagi nggak buru2 seh, gw bakal ikutan nenek2 itu buat ngambilin tulip2 yang masih bagus. Hehe.. 😀

The title is a proverb in Indonesian, which means that ‘once the sweetness is gone, the remains (of the sugarcane) will be thrown away’.

Remember my post about gardens around the city? Those plants would be replaced with new plants once their blooming season passed by. But I was curious about what would happen to them. Would they be thrown away or would they be kept until next season?

Well, now I got my answer. I was walking by this small park when I saw these piles. Apparently the workers hadn’t finished pulling them out of the flower bed yet, so an old lady was picking out the beautiful flowers to take home. I would’ve join her if I’d had the time. 😀

Der Titel ist ein Indonesisches Sprichwort, das bedeutet ‘sogleich die Süßigkeit weg ist, den Rest (von den Zuckerrohr) wird weggeschmiessen’.

Ich habe mich immer gewundert, was wurde aus den alten Pflanzen in der Grünanlagen in der Stadt gemacht. Wurden die einfach weggeschmiessen oder irgendwo anders aufbewahrt bis ihre nächste Saison?

Jetzt weiß ich die Antwort. Ich bin vorbeigelaufen als ich diese Haufen gesehen habe. Leider habe ich meine Kamera nicht dabei, also musste ich mit meinem Handy fotografieren. Deshalb sind die Bilder nicht so klar.

Hehe.. ini pintu utama ke salah satu kantor polisi di Karlsruhe. Gw motonya tengah malem gitu, sembari stress takut ada yang keluar dari gedung itu truz negur atau marah2. 😀
Kalo sendirian seh gw nggak bakal berani.

This is the door of one of the many police stations here in Karlsruhe. I was quite nervous then, I was afraid of something like this. Need to find out more if Germany has a rule like this.

Vierordtbad di Waktu Malam
Bangunan keren ini sudah tua banget, mulai dibangun tahun 1871 selesai tahun 1873. Awalnya dibuka sebagai tempat pemandian umum. Waktu jaman itu tuh orang2 blon punya kamar mandi di rumah mereka, jadi mandinya di tempat pemandian umum gini. Makanya dipisahin buat cewek ama cowok.

Tahun 1897 bangunannya sudah bobrok banget, sudah patut diruntuhin. Tapi akhirnya direnovasi jadi kolam renang.

Tahun 2004 direnovasi besar-besaran, habis sekitar 81/2 juta Euro. Kali ini dari satu kolam renang dirombak jadi dua, truz dilengkapi fasilitas-fasilitas baru. Baru dibuka lagi tahun 2005.

Musim gugur tahun 2007 dipasang lampu-lampu baru di sekitar bangunan ini, dan seperti inilah pemandangannya kalau malam.

This beautiful building is quite old, it was built during 1871-1873 and was originally a public bath. People mostly didn’t have bathrooms in their own houses then. So the facility was divided into men and women areas.

In 1897 the building was in a very bad condition. To meet the public demand, it was renovated and changed into a swimming pool.

In 2004 it was again renovated, this time the pool was made into 2 pools, and new technology and facilities were applied. Then in herbst 2007 new lights for the outer side were installed. Since then the building made quite a sight at night. 🙂

Das Bad wurde ermöglicht durch die Stiftung von Bankier Heinrich Vierordt. 1871 wurde nach Plänen von Josef Durm mit dem Bau begonnen, 1873 war das Bad fertiggestellt. Damals hatten die Wohnhäuser noch keine Bäder, daher gab es hier Wannenbäder getrennt für Frauen und Männer, später auch Dampfbäder und eine Kurabteilung. 1897 war das Bad in einem derart schlechten baulichen Zustand, dass es abgerissen werden sollte. Doch da öffentlicher Bedarf bestand, wurde stattdessen 1900 das Bad um eine Schwimmhalle erweitert. Später (1964?) kam eine Sauna dazu, Ende 2001 auch ein Whirlpool und ein weiterer Ruheraum.

2004 wurde es für 8,5 Millionen Euro komplett umgebaut: nun gibt es zwei getrennte Becken, eine komplett neue Bädertechnik, Elektrik, Heizung und Lüftung. Neu beziehungsweise umgebaut sind auch im Saunabereich ein Dampfbad, Heißluftraum und Erlebnisduschen. Die Vierordtbad-Badehalle heisst nun Badehaus. Anfang 2005 wurde es wiedereröffnet.

Im Herbst 2007 erhielt das Bad eine umfassende Außenbeleuchung, die nachts sichtbar wird.
